Four “terrorists” and three soldiers killed in a security operation in southeastern Iran

Four suspected “terrorists” and three members of the security forces have been killed in an intelligence operation by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Saravan district, Sistan and Balochistan province, according to an official statement.

“A professional terrorist team attempting to carry out terrorist operations in Saravan was attacked at dawn today,” the Revolutionary Guard reported, according to the official Iranian news agency IRNA.

The Quds Force, the special forces of the Revolutionary Guard, have participated in the operation against these “traitors to the homeland”; the Police and the General Directorate of Intelligence and weapons, ammunition and explosives have been seized there.

“The United States and the vile Zionist regime, after suffering a crushing military defeat, have ordered terrorist groups to hide their failures by generating insecurity in the province of Sistan and Balochistan,” the Revolutionary Guard has warned.

Media related to the opposition have specified that the fighting took place in the municipality of Bajshan since before dawn and continued eight hours later, even extending to the nearby Great Mosque of Madani. It also states that the militants have attacked three military vehicles and two concentrations of security forces.

The Baloch minority lives in Sistan and Balochistan, with a Sunni religious affiliation compared to the Iranian Shiite majority. The area has a long history of armed insurrections.
