The United States used Israel’s increased international isolation after the attack on the Hamas leadership in Doha to push the Israeli leadership toward an agreement on the Gaza Strip. Jared Kushner stated this while speaking via video link at the annual Yalta European Strategy forum in Kyiv.
“Israel struck in Doha, and it was terrible. From a military point of view, the operation was a failure,” Kushner said. According to him, after this Israel found itself in international isolation.
“We used this situation to push them towards a deal that they are quite happy with today,” he added. Kushner said the agreement ultimately benefited both Israel and the people of the Gaza Strip.
We are talking about an Israeli strike on Hamas leaders in the capital of Qatar in September 2025. The Hamas leaders who were the targets of the operation were not eliminated at that time.
Kushner spoke at the Yalta European Strategy forum, which took place in Kyiv on September 11-12. The Times of Israel published his remarks on September 13.
