The CEO of the company Anthropic, Dario Amodei, advocated for the participation of governments in the development of security standards for the launch of new artificial intelligence models.
“I think the next step should be collaboration between companies to develop common security standards in the release (of AI models), possibly something related to the pace of their release (…) This should be discussed with the participation of the government,” Amodei said in an interview with CBS.
For his part, the director of Open-AI, Sam Altman, announced that the technological creator of ChatGPT will not go public this year due to the security risks presented by advanced artificial intelligence models. “It would be an inadvisable time to go into the stock market,” he said.
Safeguarding human control
“Considering everything that is happening in terms of security, it would be an unwise time to go public. We don’t feel pressure to do it,” Altman explained in an interview with the magazine Fortunein which he also emphasized that the technology matrix still has “many things to do regarding what will be required for security and alignment,” while insisting that the company is willing to make decisions “contrary to the immediate financial benefit” of its investors to “safeguard” human control over the technology.
