Polling stations still open for the by-elections in Reggio Calabria until 3pm, turnout at 11pm…

Four candidates for a seat in the Chamber, that of constituency 05 of Reggio Calabria, left by Francesco Cannizzaroof Forza Italia, elected mayor of the capital in the elections last spring.

Voting takes place in Reggio and in 70 other municipalities in the province today until 3pm. Immediately after the count.

There are 487 polling stations set up, those entitled to vote (according to what is reported on the site Choosing of the Ministry of the Interior), are 287.719.

The four candidates running

The candidates, as shown on the ballot paper, are:

• Francesco Toscanocon Dsp – Sovereign and popular democracy;
• Domenico Giannettaper National future with Vannacci;
• Francesco Antonio Benedetto known as Frankcon Democratic Party – 5 Star Movement – Reformist House;
• Fabio Rosciolicon Brothers of Italy – League – We moderates – Union of the center – Forza Italia Ppe.

In the previous elections (September 2022) voting took place on a single day, Sunday, with an overall turnout of 49,4%.

At 11pm turnout at 14.97%

It was from 14.97%, at 11pm on Sunday 27 September, the turnout in the constituency 05 of Reggio Calabria for the by-elections of the Chamber of Deputies. At the same time as four years ago, for the national political elections in September 2022, 49.40% of eligible voters had voted. In 2022, however, voting took place on just one day, while in this case you can also vote today, Monday 28 September, from 7am to 3pm. It should also be underlined that the percentage of voters is calculated on the basis of all eligible voters, who are 345,788, but among these 58,729 – around 17% – are resident abroad.

The municipality of the constituency where the most votes were cast is that of Laganadi (40.19% in the two sections present), the one in which the least votes were cast is Platì (five sections), with just 2.34%.
