Green light for Roma’s new stadium in Pietralata: when could work start

The services conference relating to the technical and economic feasibility project of the new Roma stadium in the Pietralata area ended with a positive opinion. The final session took place this morning in the small parliament of the Superior Council of Public Works of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, as part of the process aimed at issuing the single authorization provision.

“The positive opinion of the services conference – explains the president of the Roma IV Municipality, Massimiliano Umberti – represents a fundamental step in the path towards the construction of the new Roma stadium in Pietralata. As Municipality IV we look at this project with great attention, because we are talking about an intervention destined to have a profound impact on the future of a strategic part of our territory. For us the stadium is not just a sports facility, but it can represent an extraordinary opportunity for regeneration, development and growth for Pietralata and for the entire quadrant. Our priority is that a transformation of this magnitude can communicate with the territory and produce concrete benefits for those who live in these neighborhoods every day. Stoned -continues Umberti- has before it the opportunity to become one of the symbolic places of the transformation of Rome, capable of combining sport, services, public spaces, mobility and new development opportunities. Gualtieri: “Roma’s new stadium is a certainty, it will be done”

Roma’s new stadium “at this point it’s a certainty, it will be done”. Thus the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, comments on the positive opinion of the services conference relating to the technical and economic feasibility project of the plant in the Pietralata area, announced this morning at the end of the final session held in the small parliament of the Superior Council of Public Works of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

“The times could also be very quick for the opening of the construction sites – states the mayor – Extraordinary work has been done to create one of the most beautiful stadiums in the worldas well as a complete redevelopment of a quadrant of Rome, with lots of greenery and many public parks”. It will be, he assures, “a beautiful work”.

The mayor also expressed thanks for “the unity and collaboration of everyone”, which “also made it possible to move forward with very, very tight deadlines”. Now, he warns, “immediately on the ground to work to prepare for the opening of the construction sites at the beginning of 2027”.
