Renee Good’s family sues the Trump administration over her death at the hands of an ICE agent

The brother of Good, Brent Gangerfiled two lawsuits, one nearly 150 pages long, on behalf of Renee and her wife Rebeca Good.

In the first, presented against USAthey allege death “illicit” by Renee Good, plus “assault, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence”and request a trial before a judge, not a jury.

The second quotes Jonathan Ross, the ICE agent who shot; as well as Tom Homan, “border czar” from the White House; Stephen Miller, Trump’s advisor and accused of being the architect of his anti-immigration policies; and the then Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Kristi Noem.

The lawsuit accuses Ross of shooting Good three times as she attempted to slowly drive away in her vehicle and of denying medical care after she was shot.

The lawsuit denounces discrimination and racial profiling and accuses federal agents of excessive and lethal use of force, as well as making illegal arrests without reasonable suspicion during Operation Metro Surge, ordered by the White House despite the rejection of local and state authorities.

Additionally, the Trump Administration is accused of pursuing, intimidating, detaining, and forcing confrontations with neighbors, legal observers, and journalists who were filming or reporting the presence of ICE.

The victim’s brother demanded, in a statement collected by organizations and media, that accountability be held and defended that his sister’s death does not represent the values of the United States.

Good, 37, died on January 7 in Minneapolis after being shot three times by an ICE agent while protesting against the presence of the body in the city.

After his death, a wave of protests broke out against the actions of immigration agents, which also caused the death of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old American, who died in the same city after being shot several times by other officers while protesting against their presence.
