Maneuver: ok from the government. Irpef at 33% up to 55 thousand euros and flat tax for incomes up to 100 thousand

The Council of Ministers has approved the maneuver which “is valid overall around 26 billion euros”. The Prime Minister said this Giorgia Meloni at the end of the CDM. 26 billion maneuver, 5.5 from banks and insurance companies

The 26 billion euro budget measure for 2027 approved today by the Council of Ministers sees a good part of the coverage coming from European flexibility with the escape clause on energy and defense, for a total of over 12 billion euros and then from banks and insurance companiesgames and cuts to ministries. The largest item concerns the financial sector, from which the executive expects to obtain around 5.5 billion euros. The resources will come from interventions on the taxation of banks and insurance companies and from the increase in the tax on financial transactions so-called Tobin tax. 300 euro voucher for those over 75

The budget law “provides concrete help” for the elderly: “With this budget law we introduce a social voucher of 300 euros for Italians over 75 with a pension of up to 28 thousand euros a year”, explained the prime minister. “Let’s talk about 5 and a half million peoplethe overall cost of the measure is 1.6 billion euros, the voucher can be used for health expenses which – he further explained – are not covered by the National Health Service. Maneuver: Irpef at 33% on incomes up to 55 thousand euros

“We are not taking away anything we have done so far and adding new measures which therefore add to the previous ones.” Thus the prime minister starting from the Irpef cut. “With the previous maneuvers we had made the cut in the tax wedge for medium-low incomes structural, then merged the two Irpef and lowered the rate between 28,000 and 50,000 euros to 33%measures with which overall this government has chosen to make the State give up, let’s say, around 21 billion which instead remain in the citizens’ pockets.

With this maneuver – said the Prime Minister – we take another step forward and therefore raise the threshold of the second Irpef bracket, the 33% one up to 55,000 euros. It translates to a maximum benefit of approximately 500 euros per year. Clearly – observes the Prime Minister – some might say that it is still not much: if we could we would have done even more, but here too I insist it is a provision that has already been made previously to understand each other. Always in Irpef taxation matters we are also intervening on the flat-rate scheme for the self-employed, another measure which you know we care a lot about, it was one of our first measures”, concluded the Prime Minister.

Meloni, for each newborn a 100 euro welcome

Meloni: “We confirm the previous measures for 9 billion”

“With this budget law we confirm all the provisions included in the previous maneuver which would have ended at the end of this year. Therefore a package of measures which alone is worth around 9 billion euros, among these the tax credit for investments in the single SEZ of the South, the 1% taxation of productivity bonuses, the bonus for working mothers, the super deduction of labor costs at 120%, cI’m the famous ‘the more you hire, the less you pay’, measures on fishing and agriculture, the elimination of Irpef for farmers, the concessions for agricultural diesel, this too is a measure that alone is worth around a billion”.
