US President Donald Trump said that a new strike on Iran is possible only after the midterm congressional elections. They will take place on November 3.

As The Atlantic reports, citing sources close to the administration, in recent weeks Trump has repeatedly discussed the possibility of a new military operation that could force Tehran to agree to American terms for resolving the conflict. According to the publication’s interlocutors, new attacks could begin soon after the elections.

At the same time, diplomatic contacts between the parties continue. Neither the US nor Iran are interested in escalation, which could have even more serious consequences for the region and the world. Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khomeini warned about this danger.
