Saudi Arabia will host a summit of Central Asian states and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf on July 19. Its goal is to deepen cooperation between the two neighboring regions.
The presidents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have already arrived in the kingdom. Kazakh leader Kassym Zhomart Tokayev, before arriving in Jeddah, where the meeting will take place, visited the mosque of the Prophet Muhammad in Medina.
Saudi Investment Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz Falih said that he expects the summit to expand economic ties, strengthen relations between regions, and increase investment.
He named energy, including “green” energy, tourism, agriculture, and healthcare as priority areas for Arab investments in Central Asia.
It should be noted that the summit coincided with the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Arab countries. He also expects to expand cooperation with the region and attract investment.
