Former MGIMO professor Valery Solovey and his son detained in Moscow

On Wednesday, February 16, in Moscow, law enforcement officers detained former MGIMO professor Valery Solovy and his son, their house was searched, the security forces seized all the equipment, the Znak.com website reports, citing activist Elvira Vikhareva.

According to a Znak.com source, the searches were carried out as part of a criminal case initiated under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity.”

The journalist of the Ekho Moskvy radio station Alexander Plyushchev also writes about the detention of Valery Solovy and his son on his Facebook page. Professor Nightingale regularly spoke on the air of this radio station.

The political scientist’s wife, in a conversation with the RIA Novosti agency and the Caution, News telegram channel, confirmed the information about the search. According to her, Valery Solovy, together with his son, was taken to the UK for questioning as witnesses in a criminal case.
