Who hasn’t wanted to record a moment of glory in a video game or a funny death to show their friends? This option, available on consoles such as PlayStation y Xbox It will now be easier for PC users to use the platform Steam.
And Valve’s digital store has implemented the beta version of Game Recording, a new functionality that will allow you to capture the best moments of your gaming sessions to review, edit and share them with whoever you want. In addition, it makes it easy to export the files to use them for other video platforms such as YouTube.
The feature is currently available, albeit with some restrictions due to its beta status. That’s why to enable it you’ll first have to join the Steam beta, which sounds more difficult than it is. Here’s the path to activate it:
Open Steam -> Click on the Steam tab -> Go to Settings -> Go to Interface -> Participation in the client beta -> Steam Beta Update.
Following these steps will enable the Record Game tab in the Settings tab, which will allow you to adjust things like the length of recordings, the folder where they will be saved, and most importantly, the mechanisms by which recording mode is activated.
At the moment Steam offers two options (three if you take into account not recording anything).
The first is to automatically record in the background when you start playing, with the advantage that this option will eliminate the possibility of missing an unexpected moment that you want to keep. This option saves the last 120 minutes by default, although you can increase and decrease the number as you wish in the settings.
The second option is Record Manually, which makes available to the user when Steam will start recording what has been played using the Ctrl+F12 command by default, although this can be changed.
In addition to basic video editing tools, Steam’s new feature also features some pretty convenient new features to make its user’s life easier, including setting up a timeline that automatically highlights when important events occur, such as a well-aimed headshot to an opponent in “Counter-Strike 2.” Plus, as mentioned earlier, the platform makes it easy to export your files to other platforms in the form of an MP4 file.
