Arab League announces it no longer considers Hezbollah a terrorist organization

The Arab League no longer considers Hezbollah a terrorist organization, said Arab League Assistant Secretary General Hussam Zaki.

Zaki said the Arab League had decided to remove Hezbollah from the list of terrorist organizations because it “plays an important role in Lebanon’s current politics and future.”

Let us recall that Hezbollah was recognized as a terrorist organization by the Arab League on November 19, 2017, at an emergency session convened at the initiative of Saudi Arabia. Lebanon and Iraq did not participate in the vote.

It should be noted that Saudi Arabia and its allies in the Gulf Cooperation Council declared Hezbollah a terrorist organization back in 2013.
