HRF announces appointment of Yulia Navalnaya as chairperson

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) has announced the appointment of Yulia Navalnaya as its chair. Her candidacy was supported by the previous chair of the organization, Garry Kasparov, who held the post since 2012.

“Yulia’s courage and commitment to justice are inspiring,” Kasparov said.

“As someone who has personally seen the threat that dictatorships pose to our loved ones and the world at large, this is a huge honor for me,” Navalnaya was quoted as saying by the HRF website.

Yulia Navalnaya noted on her social networks that the “continuation of work” of Alexei Navalny remains a “priority” for her.

HRF is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 and located in New York City. She works to promote and protect human rights around the world.
