The Paris prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation after a complaint for aggravated cyber harassment was filed by Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, an Olympic gold medalist who was the victim of a controversy over her gender.
The investigation was launched by the National Center for Combating Online Hate for “cyber harassment based on gender, public insult based on gender, public provocation to discrimination and public insult based on origin,” the judicial body said. The investigation was entrusted to the Central Office for Combating Crimes against Humanity and Hate Crimes.
