Mountain View. Google has unveiled its new Pixel smartphones, which are equipped with greater capabilities and generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
At the group’s headquarters in Mountain View, California, the Pixel 9 was presented alongside connectivity watches and other accessories.
The Californian group has a significant comparative advantage in the AI competition: user data, which it can collect thanks to its Android mobile system or applications such as YouTube, Google Maps and Gmail.
With this data, an AI-powered assistant could be available at all times to perform numerous tasks.

said Shenaz Zack, a director of Pixel models, during a press conference.
Despite its online empire, Google has failed to make much headway in the smartphone world, a market dominated by Apple and South Korea’s Samsung, as well as China’s Xiaomi.
Apple has only recently launched its generative AI strategy with Apple Intelligence, which was launched in June, a year and a half after the start of the frenzied race to dominate this technology launched by OpenAI with its ChatGPT.
Pixel 9 models feature a custom-designed microchip for Gemini that can understand and output data in the form of text, sound, or images. This could allow the system to schedule appointments at the hair salon or auto repair shop, compose messages, find screenshots, and extract information, among other tasks.
It also offers Gemini Live, an app that allows you to talk to your assistant, available in English on all Android phones. This app makes it possible, for example, to prepare for a job interview.
Meanwhile, Huawei Technologies is preparing a new chip for use with artificial intelligence with which it seeks to challenge Nvidia in China, which faces sanctions from the United States, according to a report The Wall Street Journal.
Chinese Internet and telecom companies have been testing Huawei’s latest processor, the Ascend 910C.
