VfL Bochum has found what it was looking for in its search for defensive reinforcements. As the Bundesliga club announced a few days before the end of the transfer deadline, 25-year-old central defender Jakov Medić has been signed from Ajax Amsterdam on a one-year loan with a subsequent purchase option.
As a former player in Nuremberg, Wiesbaden and FC St. Pauli, the Croatian Medić gained experience in German football and played a total of 73 second division and 36 third division games. After moving to Amsterdam in the summer of 2023, he played six times in the Eredivisie. In addition, he played one game in the Europa League and two games in the previous qualification.
