Stuttgart: BMW in flames – underground car park under musical theater burnt down

Stuttgart – The musical guests were looking forward to an exciting evening. However, the drama on site was bigger than they had expected.

Fire on Friday afternoon in the SI Center in Stuttgart-Möhringen! In the underground car park under the two musical theaters and the Cinemaxx, a BMW that a 52-year-old woman wanted to park there suddenly caught fire at around 4:40 p.m.

Palladium Theater had to be evacuated

The flames, which initially only blazed from the engine compartment of the BMW, quickly spread to two other cars. The driver immediately alerted the fire department.

A spokesman for the Stuttgart fire brigade told BILD: “Preparations for the musicals were underway Tarzan and Tina.“

Due to heavy smoke, the building in which the Palladium Theater is located had to be evacuated.

Tarzan musical started late

A statement from the fire department states: “The first emergency services were hit by black smoke from the entrance to the underground car park. Several breathing apparatus teams worked their way into the 3rd basement level of the underground car park and extinguished three burning cars with two fire hoses.”

The fire department spokesman told BILD: “After the flames were extinguished, we first had to carry out smoke measurements. Tina in the Apollo Theater is structurally separated from the animal garage, so that could begin on time.” The DisneyMusical Tarzan at the Palladium, however, started half an hour late.

Damage amounts to hundreds of thousands

The Evil CinemaxxIt remained closed all Friday evening. A decision will be made on Saturday morning as to whether the halls can be opened.
