Israel: The average salary of an employee in July is 13,591 shekels per month

The Central Bureau of Statistics published a statistical report on wages of employees in July of this year. According to this document, in July 2024, the average salary of an employee (based on current prices) was 13,591 shekels per month, which is 6% more than in July 2023 (12,819 shekels per month).

The average salary of an employee (in constant prices, that is, minus the monthly price index) was 11,296 shekels per month, which is 2.8% higher than in July 2023 (10,990 shekels).

In July of this year, there were 4.109 million wages in the Israeli economy, which is 0.9% more than in June 2024 (4.074 million wages), but almost no different from the figure for July 2023 (4.106 million wages).

According to the Central Bank, the highest average salary of employees (in current prices) was recorded in July in the field of information and communications – 29,995 shekels per month. Next come companies providing electricity, water supply, sewerage and waste treatment services – 22,376 shekels per month.

In third place were wage workers in the industrial sector, whose average salary was 20,380 shekels per month. In local governments, government agencies, security services and Bituach Leumi, the average salary was 18,479 shekels per month.

In the professional services, scientific organizations and technicians, the average salary was 18,201 shekels. In July, real estate workers earned an average of 15,397 shekels. In the field of transport services, warehouse services, mail and courier services, the average salary was 14,395 shekels per month.

The following are the industries in which the average salary in July of this year was lower than the average Israeli salary: construction industry (NIS 12,814 per month), wholesale and retail trade, car repair – NIS 11,095 per month, education – NIS 10,948 per month, healthcare, social security and care for the infirm – NIS 9,755 per month, agriculture, fish farming and forestry – NIS 9,204 per month, management and support services – NIS 8,282 per month, culture, arts and leisure – NIS 7,799 per month, other services – NIS 7,357 per month , hotel services and catering – 6,482 shekels per month.
