The Supreme Court upheld the blocking of the accounts of the NPO Alrahimun

Supreme Court Judge Ofer Groskopf rejected an appeal by the non-profit organization Alrahimoun, which demanded that Bank Leumi be forced to unfreeze its accounts blocked on suspicion of financing terrorism.

The NPO’s account was blocked in early December 2023 due to suspicions of violating the law prohibiting the financing of terrorist activities. According to the bank, the Umm al-Fahm NGO transferred money to the Turkish organization ATTA, which in turn transferred the money to Syria.

The NGO, in turn, argued that these were donations collected to help Syrian refugees, and that the organization was overseeing their distribution.

Earlier, the Tel Aviv District Court ruled that Bank Leumi’s actions were justified.
