Nursing homes|Attendo is now starting change negotiations in care homes for the elderly all over Finland.
Care services provider Attendo starts change negotiations in care homes for the elderly in several locations around Finland.
The need for reduction is approximately 250 person-years of work. A total of approximately 1,800 employees are involved in the change negotiations.
Already earlier, Attendo said that it had started change negotiations in Satakunta, Pirkanmaa and nursing homes in Utajärvi in North Ostrobothnia, Lapinlahti in Pohjois Savo and Kauniala hospital.
In addition, in Säkylä and Harjavalla, negotiations are underway to close two nursing homes due to the low number of clients.
All the announced change negotiations can lead to a reduction of a maximum of approximately 570 person-years of work, and they cover a total of approximately 2,300 Attendo employees.
Welfare areas have purchased nursing home services from Attendo.
CEO of Attendo Virpi Holmqvist tells in the bulletinthat in some welfare areas, elderly people are not currently placed in nursing homes in the same way as before.
According to Holmqvist, it has led to a situation where Attendo would have both vacancies and personnel, but no customers.
“We cannot keep the personnel waiting, but we have to start the change negotiations,” Holmqvist states in the press release.
Change negotiations last at least six weeks. Attendo says that it strives to offer staff jobs from other Attendo homes in the surrounding area, if reductions have to be implemented.
“We are sorry for the situation, and we would not have wanted to have to take such measures”, Holmqvist continues.
