Bitter bankruptcy of a well-known hotel bar

There are no plans to continue the business as a going concern, but a takeover would be desirable, according to the debtor’s representative.

Spend a unique evening with your friends, colleagues or employees. Then ask about our workshops. Tasting, cocktail mixing, barista milk foam or team building events can be booked with us.2

We’re talking about Manu Binder, owner of the DOMBar in the Hotel am Dom near Linz’s Mariendom. The restaurateur has filed for bankruptcy proceedings.

The background

“The causes of insolvency are primarily due to the applicant’s illness, which no longer allows him to continue. Due to the short notice, no successor could be found yet. In principle, the company is not broken, according to the renowned debtor representative Wilhelm Deutschmann, a takeover would be desirable,” quotes KSV1870.

According to AKV, the changed consumption behavior of guests after Corona showed that less was being consumed overall. “Increased personnel and operating costs could no longer be compensated and a short-term search for a successor was not possible. Ultimately, this bankruptcy petition had to be filed.”

Debts and assets

According to the list of creditors, there are currently 22 creditors affected by this bankruptcy. The liabilities amount to 76,000 euros, the free assets are valued at 40,000 euros.

“No further continuation of the company is sought and the debtor company should be liquidated,” says the AKV.
