Lufthansa will pay million for discrimination against Jews

The US Department of Transportation has fined German airline Lufthansa $4 million for discriminating against a group of Jewish passengers.

The incident occurred in May 2022, when two ultra-Orthodox Jews flying to Budapest refused to wear masks in accordance with the epidemic rules in force at the time.

The airline refused to allow them on board, along with 128 other passengers wearing traditional ultra-Orthodox Jewish clothing or wearing kippahs.

It should be noted that the airline had previously paid each passenger $21,000 in compensation.
