The hot autumn of the unions begins. On October 19th at 10 am in Piazza del Popolo, in Rome, workers in the public sectors will mobilize with a national demonstration entitled “Salary, health, rights, employment”, to demand the renewal of everyone’s collective labor agreements public service workers, greater resources for national contracts because it is inconceivable to propose salary increases of around 5% when inflation for the three-year period 22-24 has reached 17%. This was announced by the unions FP Cgil, Uil Fpl and Uil Pa through their respective general secretaries Serena Sorrentino, Rita Longobardi and Sandro Colombi, underlining that in particular they are asking for more resources for public services starting from public health in order to guarantee universal care and free. In the square there will also be the general secretaries of Uil Pierpaolo Bombardieri and of CGIL, Maurizio Landini.
The demonstration – explain the unions – also intends to denounce the increase in inequalities that will be caused by differentiated autonomy and to relaunch the proposal for a large extraordinary employment plan to compensate for the chronic shortage of personnel.
“The government must provide answers to workers in central functions, local functions and healthcare – the unions underline – the crisis affects all public sectors and negotiations with the government do not offer answers. The dignity of workers is at stake and the rights constitutionally recognized to citizens and citizens. – they conclude – confirms the reasons for our mobilization”.
