Israel | The consumer price index fell by 0.2% in September

The consumer price index decreased in September 2024 by 0.2% compared to August and reached 108.6 points (the average price index for 2022 is taken as the base 100 points).

The price index excluding fruits and vegetables decreased by 0.4%, the price index excluding housing decreased by 0.3%, and the price index excluding energy decreased by 0.1%.

The most noticeable was a decrease in prices for transport by 2.6%, prices for entertainment and culture decreased by 1.3%, clothing and shoes became cheaper by 1.2%, and fresh fruit became cheaper by 1.1%.

The most noticeable increases were in prices for fresh vegetables, which rose by 6.7%, educational services by 1.3%, and furniture and household utensils, which rose by 0.6%.

Since the beginning of the year, the consumer price index has increased by 3.4%, which is lower than experts predicted. Over the past 12 months, the price index has increased by 3.5%.
