The number of employed people fell in July-September, the number of unemployed people increased

Employed was 18,000 less in July-September than in the same period last year, says Statistics Finland. There were 28,000 more unemployed.

There were 8,000 more employed men and 26,000 fewer employed women than in July-September last year.

The number of employed people increased the most in health and social services and decreased the most in wholesale and retail trade.

The number of working hours worked by the employed decreased by one percent in July-September compared to a year ago.

In July-September, there were slightly more than 2.6 million people employed on average.
