Hefner’s son makes an offer to buy Playboy

Cooper Hefner, the youngest son of Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner, who died in 2017, has made an offer to buy the Playboy group, which, in addition to the print magazine, includes a social network and a lingerie brand.

Playboy’s initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange was held in 2021, but since then its shares have lost 90% of their value.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Hefner and a group of investors offered to buy the group’s shares for $100 million, despite its current market price of $63 million.

According to the publication, Hefner Jr. wants to buy the brand, copyright and publishing house using funds from his own investment company, while other structures included in the Playboy group will operate separately.
