Harmonized The annual change in the consumer price index in Finland was 1.5 percent in October, says Statistics Finland. In September, the annual change was 0.9 percent.

The biggest annual change was measured in the main group of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, where prices rose by 5.3 percent compared to a year ago. At the same time, food and non-alcoholic beverages rose in price by 0.2 percent. Clothing and footwear became more expensive by 0.6 percent from a year ago.

Residencewater, electricity, gas and other fuels became more expensive by 3.0 percent. Restaurants and hotels also became more expensive by 3.0 percent.

The consumption items and compilation rules included in the harmonized consumer price index are defined by EU regulations. The index does not include owner-occupied housing, gambling, interest on consumer and other loans, fire insurance for a single-family house, vehicle tax, or fishing and hunting fees.
