Court orders demolition of illegal Adama eco-village in Galilee

The Acre Magistrate’s Court upheld the state’s claim and ordered the demolition of 34 buildings in the ecological village of Adama in the Western Galilee.

The village was built in the 90s of the last century on lands intended for forest planting, without obtaining any permits. The residents of the village are families leading an eco-friendly lifestyle in harmony with nature.

The decision was made on claims filed back in 2018. In 2023, the state identified about 30 more buildings in the village. Some were demolished on the basis of decrees; for some, the prosecutor’s office had to start new trials.

Let us recall that in the spring of 2022, a fire occurred in one of the houses in the village, in which 3-year-old Libi Kalikh died. Her parents and 6-year-old brother were severely burned.
