Argentine bonds continue to celebrate and the country risk drops another step to 852 points

Argentine bonds continue this thursday de rally after the boost they received after Donald Trump’s victory in the United States and maintain country risk at the lowest levels in five years: drops from 870 to 852 basis points.

Argentine debt securities in dollars listed on Wall Street rise up to 1.3%, which adds to the advance of between 2.1 and 2.4% that they had on Wednesday in the first post-election round.

On Wednesday, Argentina had fallen behind the rest of the emerging markets, which reacted downward. “The market seems to overweight the political factor in the face of what could be a closer alignment between the United States and Argentina that facilitates negotiations with the IMF,” they wrote in PPI about this decoupling.
