Part of crude oil production in the Gulf of Mexico interrupted by Rafael

More than a quarter of US crude oil and nearly 17 percent of natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico is offline after the hurricane RafaelThe US offshore energy regulator reported on Saturday. On Saturday, production equivalent to 490,241 barrels of oil and 313 million cubic feet of natural gas was closed, reported the Office of Safety and Environmental Standards Control. Production in the Gulf of Mexico represents 15 percent of the total US crude oil. Workers were evacuated from 41 of the 371 platforms.
