For many years, Türkiye was the main supplier of cheap pasta to Israel, sold by local retail chains under their own brands.
However, since May, when the Turkish authorities imposed an embargo on the supply of a significant part of Turkish goods to Israel, the supply of pasta has also stopped.
In the last month, as reported by the ynet portal, this price segment was occupied by pasta from Azerbaijan. Due to the low cost of production, Azerbaijani pasta remains a cheap option even despite the need for land delivery to Georgia, from where it goes by sea to Israel.
It is worth recalling that Azerbaijan supplies not only pasta to Israel. The main item of Azerbaijani export to Israel is oil.
