Brussels Airlines chooses Atomium as a new design for its aircraft

Brussels Airlines will paint one of its aircraft with a design based on the Atomium. The airline has announced this.

Brussels Airlines already has several aircraft in its fleet with a special design: the Tintin aircraft ‘Rackham’, the Tomorrowland aircraft ‘Amare’ and ‘Trident’, the official aircraft of the Red Devils and the Red Flames. Previous theme planes were decorated with Magritte, the Smurfs and Pieter Bruegel the Elder.

Now there is a device in the theme of the Atomium. “The Atomium has been attracting visitors to Belgium for years, now the iconic Belgian monument itself can travel around the world,” the company says.

The design was chosen from more than 900 entries. The winner of the design competition is Thomas Faes, a Belgian architect.
