How much money should I earn per month to be middle class in Spain?

upper class, middle class y lower class. Although the division by class seems typical of past times, the truth is that it is still an important classification social of the wealth. In Spain a considerable part of the population (around 44%, according to the CIS) considers it to be average, but is that true?

It should be noted that there is no single consensus to measure it and that there are different scales, depending on who you ask. One of the criteria to differentiate between these very diffuse lines of classification is the one that establishes the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

For this institution, the lower class is the one found below 75% of the median of national income; the media is the one that is located between 75% and 200% and the alta the one that surpasses 200% of the median.

If we extrapolate it to the month and, taking into account 12 annual paymentsthe middle class in Spain would be the ones who win between 1,144 euros monthly gross and 3.052 euros monthly gross. A wide range, which allows few conclusions to be drawn.

The Gestha criterion

He Union of Treasury Technicians (Gestha) slightly adjusts the scale and places the middle class in Spain among the 14.000 euros annual gross and los 30.000.
