A chemical company Kemira says that it plans to expand its Helsingborg production facility in Sweden and invest in the construction of a new activated carbon reactivation facility.
According to Kemira’s press release, the value of the investment would be a few tens of millions of euros.
According to the release, the new production facility would significantly add new capacity to the Nordic drinking water and wastewater treatment markets.
The expansion plans are part of Kemira’s long-term strategy to double the water treatment business.
The technical preliminary investigation phase of the project is underway and the new facility would start in the second half of 2027. The investment still requires a final investment decision and environmental permits.
