Israel | The government will revise the state budget for 2024 for the third time, increasing the state budget deficit to 7.7%

On Sunday, November 17, the Israeli government will vote for the third time on changes to the 2024 government budget, approved in May 2023, then revised in March 2024, and revised again in September 2024.

The reasons for the need for another revision of the state budget are the delay in the allocation of US military assistance in the amount of 18 billion shekels and the expansion and prolongation of military operations in Lebanon, which required 13.4 billion shekels.

In addition, interest costs on government loans increased by NIS 1.8 billion.

In this regard, the state budget deficit will be expanded from 6.6% to 7.7%.
