Japan’s Yokohama Rubber Corporation has announced that its 75-year-old Alliance tire plant will close on December 31, 2024.
The delivery staff of about 550 workers will be laid off.
The plant had been on the verge of closure several times before and changed hands. Yokohama Rubber bought it in 2007, moved the production of car tires to India, and left the production of tires for special equipment – agricultural, forestry, and construction – in Israel.
