On Monday, November 18, the American developer of the CRM platform Salesforce announced the completion of the transaction to purchase the Israeli startup company Own, which has developed a backup mechanism for cloud systems.
The deal was originally announced in early September this year. The final amount of the deal was $100 million higher than announced then, amounting to $2 billion.
Over the years of its existence, Own, created in 2015, has mobilized $0.5 billion from clients. The company’s staff exceeds 1000 people, of which about 200 are in Israel.
It’s worth noting that the deal is below the $3.3 billion price tag the startup received in its last 2021 capital raising round, making the deal a loss for investors who only invested in the company in the last round.
