Tax cards there will be a substantial change to the filling next year: the 2025 tax cards will come into effect already on January 1.

In the past, tax cards have come into effect at the beginning of February. The income limit for the tax card has therefore been defined for 12 months, while previously the income limit was defined for 11 months, the announcement of the Tax Administration says. The income limit also includes vacation pay.

The change is good for the customer, says the procedure manager Päivi Ylitalo From the tax administration.

“It has been really difficult to monitor your own income limit when the tax card has been calculated for 11 months. Many people are confused about which figure should be used and what is the right income limit”, Ylitalo says in the announcement.

The full year’s income and the income limit shown on the payslip will correspond one to one after the reform, so the need for a change tax card is easier to think about, says Ylitalo.

Tax Administration has started creating tax cards for 2025, the release states.

The first tax cards will be available at Omavero on Saturday, November 23. All tax cards will arrive no later than December 13th.

Those customers who do not use Suomi.fi messages will also receive their tax cards later by mail.

If the customer estimates that his income next year will be higher or lower than what is indicated on the tax card, a new tax card must be ordered. You can do it as soon as the 2025 tax card is found in Omavero.
