STOCK EXCHANGE: Helsinki opened to decline after Trump’s customs threats

The Helsinki Stock Exchange opened lower on Tuesday, led by Asia, when US President Donald Trump threatened tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada and China. The general index had fallen by 0.7 percent to 9,539 points.

Trump said he wants additional tariffs of 10 percent on products imported from China and 25 percent import tariffs on all products coming from Canada and Mexico.

In the most traded stocks Nordea had decreased by 1.0 percent, Roots 1.0 percent and UPM 0.6 percent. Course reactions have been compiled in a table at the end of the article.

Forest machine company Ponsse completed the change negotiations. In the negotiations, it was agreed that the company will prepare for a maximum of 90 days of layoffs for the year 2025. Steel company SSAB announced that it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for the supply of fossil-free steel. The cooperation includes pilot deliveries of fossil-free steel produced with Hybrit technology to one of AWS’s three new data centers in Sweden. A subsidiary of SSAB Ruukki Construction delivers roof and wall structures to buildings.

OP and Inders raised Terveystalo target prices after yesterday’s positive earnings warning.

OP raises the Terveystalo target price to 11.50 euros from 11.20 euros, but the add recommendation remained unchanged.

Inderes raises Terveystalo’s target price to 11.30 euros from 10.80 euros, but the add recommendation remained unchanged.
