A month before the Miss America pageant, the management company filed for bankruptcy

Businessman Glenn Straub filed a filing with US Bankruptcy Court in West Palm Beach, Florida, alleging that the company that runs the Miss America pageant owes creditors $4 million, Bloomberg reports.

Robin Fleming, who became president and CEO of the Miss America Competition in 2023, filed a different lawsuit, arguing that the company was not experiencing financial difficulties. According to her version, we are talking about an “unconscionable” attempt by Straub to regain control of the competition, writes the Wall Street Journal. According to Fleming, Straub is not the actual owner of the Miss America Competition, which means she cannot file for bankruptcy on her own behalf.

It’s noteworthy that these legal battles come just weeks before the Miss America 2025 pageant, which is set to kick off on January 1 in Orlando.
