“It’s complete darkness”: with the threat of censorship and the absence of budget, companies are paralyzed

The example of Lener Cordier, a family business specializing in textiles, based in Hazebrouck (North), around fifteen kilometers from the Belgian border, sums up the concerns well. On November 26, with its 72 employees, the ready-to-wear company celebrated its 70th anniversary… but also its placement in receivership.

“It’s a coincidence of the calendar,” confides Frédéric Lener, its manager, without losing his good humor despite the circumstances. It’s a trauma but we are still standing, our products are renowned and we are ready to reinvent ourselves. » The boss wants to be combative, in a political context that is nevertheless uncertain with a threat of censorship from the government and the absence of a budget. “We need stability, and here, politics is playing with fire,” regrets Frédéric Lener.
