Withdrawal of collective dismissal procedures for 249 workers and renewal of supply contract for another 12 months. These are the key points of the agreement reached between Stellantis and Trasnova during the meeting which took place at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy with the confederal and trade unions, the representatives of the Regions and local authorities where the company operates of the related industries. There company based in Cassino in the province of Frosinone – which operates under the single commission with Stellantis carrying out logistics activities in various Group factories – had announced collective dismissals in recent days for 97 workers employed between Pomigliano, Mirafiori, Melfi and Piedimonte San Germano following the suspension of the supply contract by Stellantis starting from 31 December. Trasnova’s decision was then followed by dismissal letters from the subcontracting companies: Logitech had started procedures for 101 units, while Tecnoservice for 51 employees, for a total of 249 workers.
As reported in a note from Mimit, during the meeting Stellantis underlined its intention to carry forward a process of dialogue with the parties involved at the table, making itself available to continue the supply contract with Trasnova for another year. For its part, the latter undertakes to immediately withdraw the dismissal procedures which also affect subcontractors. Furthermore, the company is also committed to researching other possible development businesses in the coming months, working with a view to overcoming the single-contract regime.
Trasnova, agreement in the sense of responsibility
“The agreement signed at MIMIT, which provides for the extension of the contract with Trasnova for a further year, was born from the sense of responsibility of Stellantis which, in recent days, had expressed its willingness to support Trasnova to resolve this delicate situation “. This can be read in a note from Stellantis Italia regarding the reaching of the agreement with Trasnova to avoid layoffs.
“It was in fact Stellantis itself, which proposed this type of solution which will allow Trasnova, over the next 12 months, to be able to intervene to create an overall and definitive solution for the workers involved with the appropriate tools that regulate the crisis situations and also find, according to the agreement, customer diversification measures” he concludes.
Fiom, Trasnova is a symbol of the state of the automotive industry
“Trasnova represents the symbolic dispute of what could happen in the automotive sector, which starting from the components supply chain, is starting to show all its difficulties. We ask Mimit and more generally the Government to restore and expand the automotive fund and to address the issue of transition with a discussion at Palazzo Chigi with all the competent ministries. Stellantis for its part must begin to provide the necessary answers to guarantee the employment and saturation of all the factories in Italy”. Thus in a joint note Samuele Lodi, Fiom-Cgil national secretary and mobility sector manager, Maurizio Oreggia and Ciro D’Alessio, national automotive coordinators for Fiom-Cgil.
“We need to mobilize in Europe, so that the European Union decides on an extraordinary plan for the transition of the entire automotive sector. As Fiom-Cgil we thank the workers who are protagonists in these days of a great struggle in defense of work, salary and dignity”.
