In addition to the statutory severance payment, Audi will also offer employees a company bonus, which is calculated based on the employee’s seniority. “The budget (which is provided for severance payments and company premiums, ed.) is more than twice as high as the statutory severance payment,” says D’hoore. “We are confident that employees will recognize and accept the quality of our offering,” the spokesperson added.

Gerd Walker, Audi’s global number one responsible for production, regrets that the unions have rejected the “last, further improved proposal”, the sixth in the meantime. “We keep our word and will voluntarily offer each employee an individual and fair severance payment on top of the statutory severance payment. In this way we want to support the employees who have done so much for the four rings on their path to a new professional future.”
