Greece is in talks to buy 36 PULS missile and artillery systems from Israel as part of the modernization of its armed forces, Reuters reports.
The PULS system, created by the Israeli company Elbit, has a range of up to 300 km.
The estimated transaction amount is 600-700 million euros.
Reuters notes that the deal is being discussed against the backdrop of other negotiations – the sale by Israel of an air and missile defense system to Greece worth 2 billion euros.
The Greek government will present the deal to a parliamentary committee for approval in the first quarter of 2025.
Greece’s military modernization plan includes the acquisition of up to 40 fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets from the United States and four frigates from France.
On December 13, Greece approved the purchase of American Switchblade drones manufactured by AeroVironment.
