Stellantis’ production in Italy “in 2025 will be more or less like in 2024, therefore suffering, in 2026 I see a +50%”. Jean Philippe Learnato, European manager of Stellantis, said this during the press conference after the Stellantis table at Mimit.
“Putting the hybrid in Melfi has the effect of tripling volumes. I expect +100 thousand cars a year with the hybrid Fiat 500 in Mirafiori”, added IMPARATO.

The Italy Plan
An Italy Plan that places our country at the center of Stellantis’ strategies, through the increase in electric and hybrid models in production, and the safeguarding of employment levels, in line with production investments and by starting insertion, updating and retraining processes of the people of the Group.
The Group’s new industrial plan for Italy, presented during the, takes shape Stellantis table which was held today at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, chaired by Minister Adolfo Urso and which saw the participation of the Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti, the Minister of Labor and Social Policies Marina Calderone, and of the Stellantis delegation, represented by the Stellantis Europe Manager Jean-Philippe Learnato, of the Regions in which the Group’s factories are located, of ANFIA and of the trade unions.
Presenting the Plan, Stellantis reiterated the centrality of Italy, keeping all the sites in the country active and confirming the investments that Stellantis will make in Italy: approximately 2 billion euros of investments in factories and 6 billion euros in the same period in purchases from suppliers operating in Italy.
The Group, even at a time of growing difficulties in the automotive sector in the world, has reiterated its intention to carry forward its industrial plan in Italy with its own resources, without any form of public incentive for production. Priority will be given to the competitiveness of the production chain, for the valorisation, diversification and reconversion of which the company has expressed its willingness to collaborate constructively together with ANFIA and the institutions.
A plan presented for each Italian factory
The Italy Plan provides for an increase in Stellantis’ commitment to each plant.
A Pomiglianofrom 2028, the new platform (STLA-SMALL) will be installed, on which the production of 2 nnew compact models. In the Campania plant the presidium for the production of mass market cars with the extension of the production of the Panda (also called Pandina) until 2030, followed by the introduction of the new generation of the same model.
A Mirafiori the production of the will be based 500 hybrid and the new generation of the 500 BeV electric, in addition to the continuation of the eDCT gearbox activity. Turin will be, from January 1st 2025, the headquarters of the Stellantis Europe Region and the headquarters of the Group’s Commercial Vehicles division. The Piedmontese capital will also be the headquarters of SUSTAINera, the Group’s testing and recycling center, thus reaffirming its leadership in the circular economy, and will consolidate the Battery Technology Center, current home of the Group’s only center in the world for testing and for it battery development.
News also for the factory Cassinowhere the STLA-LARGE platform will be introduced (in addition to the world premiere development of the STLA-Brain and STLA-Smart Cockpit electronic architectures), on which three new models will be produced. In fact, the new one will be produced from 2025 Alfa Romeo Stelviofrom 2026 the new Alfa Romeo Giuliaand – to follow – a new top of the range car. Furthermore, the production of Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia in hybrid as well as electric versions is being evaluated.
Melfi will benefit over the next few years from the launch of 7 new models: from 2025 the new DS n°8 will be produced, the new Jeep Compass, the new Lancia Gamma and the new DS7, all electric. Of these, three models – Jeep, Gamma e DS7 – they will also be hybrids, which triples the forecast of volumes produced. These models will be built on the STLA-MEDIUM platform.
Ad Atessa – in addition to the introduction of “Stellantis CustomFit”, the conversion and customization program and, from the end of 2024, the production of electric vehicles – from 2027 the production of a new version of Large Van will begin, specifically designed for maximum competitiveness in compared to international competition. The Abruzzo site, the flagship of the Italian industry which exports more than 80% of its production abroad to 75 countries, will play an increasingly central role in Stellantis’ strategic plan.
Modena will become the high-end hub, pride of Made in Italy, involving the production ecosystem of the Motor Valley in this mission in order to develop the project together with all the players in the supply chain, from design to pre-industrialisation, with the best national components in terms of innovation and circularity, part of an overall effort to enhance the “Made in Italy” brand aimed exclusively at high-end cars produced in our country.
Regard Termoli and the ACC Gigafactory, Stellantis reiterated its commitment to the financial support of the joint venture, which will communicate its plan in 2025 and which remains open to studying the creation of the Gigafactory based on the evolution of technologies and in consideration of the market and the competitiveness of the enabling factors of the system Village.
New supplier management method
Since its inception, Stellantis has delivered orders quantifiable at approximately 3 billion euros in new projects assigned to Italian suppliers and has purchased approximately 6 billion euros per year (24 billion) of value in Italy. Stellantis has announced that it has identified a highly qualified figure who will be specifically dedicated to the relationship with Italian suppliers.
Enhancement of the production ecosystem
In order to enhance the production ecosystem, centers of excellence, research and innovation, in particular with regard to green technologies, digital and AI, Stellantis will join the AI 4 Industry Foundation of Turin and the Chips Foundation .it of Pavia.
The Group’s position in Europe
In the European context, the company will participate in ACEA, which it considers the most appropriate forum to promote dialogue with all stakeholders in order to contribute to giving life, together with national and European institutions and social and productive forces, to a real automotive plan on a continental scale also in line with what is outlined in the Italian government’s “non paper”.
The “non paper”, promoted by the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, underlines the need for an early evaluation of the European regulation on light vehicles by 2025and aims to review the methods that will lead to the cessation of internal combustion engines in 2035, guaranteeing a realistic and flexible regulatory framework, essential to preserving the competitiveness of the European automotive industry.
Dialogue confirmed
The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy and Stellantis will keep open a constant dialogue on a regular basis on the effects and impacts of the initiatives defined therein which will be given an account at the Roundtable on the automotive sector.
