Israel | Shufersal will be fined 2 million shekels for misleading customers

The Consumer Protection Authority intends to impose a fine of NIS 2.13 million on the Shufersal chain for a series of violations related to the indication of prices for goods in Cash & Carry wholesale trade branches.

The management believes that Shufersal misled private clients by indicating prices without VAT.

In theory, Cash & Carry’s three branches in Ashdod, Be’er Yaakov and Haifa were intended for commercial customers such as catering establishments, groceries and hotels, but in fact, anyone could shop there, including private customers.

Other violations identified in these departments include the lack of indication of the country of origin of agricultural products, the lack of indication of the price of the product per unit of weight/volume, etc.
