New cars at knockdown prices: good deals at dealers but “you have to decide quickly”

The cars shine behind the windows at the end of the year, but “the prices are as stinging as the fir needles,” laughs Paul, scruffy forty-something, jacket open over a bright red Christmas sweater of questionable taste… “ It’s for the end-of-year lunch with colleagues,” he explains, a little embarrassed.
