On the last day of the year, the financial commission approved 4.5 billion shekels of transfers in 2 hours

Since 08:00 on December 31, 2024, the Knesset Finance Committee has been considering 56 requests for the redistribution of 4.5 billion shekels from unused funds from the state budget for 2024.

Of this amount, more than a billion shekels are intended to finance ultra-Orthodox education. According to the opposition, the approval of the transfers was carried out in gross violation of procedures, 20 blocks of documents with information about the transfers were handed over to deputies only the night before, and some of the transfers violated the decisions of the High Court.

Let us recall that the state budget for 2024 was approved four times, the last time two weeks ago, in mid-December.
