The plant for the production of aircraft engine parts in Nahariya will not be closed in 2025

The American aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney decided to extend the operation of the Tekhnologat Lakhavim plant in Nahariya, which was planned to close in 2025 due to unprofitable production.

The reason for the postponement of closure is currently unknown and the intention to close the plant still remains in place, but the plant, which employs 900 people, will remain fully operational until at least 2025, according to the General Federation of Trade Unions.

Technologat Lahavim was created by Steph Wertheimer in the late 1960s in response to the French arms embargo on Israel. The plant produced spare parts for the engines of the French Mirage fighters, which were in service with the IDF.

In the 1990s, the plant significantly expanded production, collaborating with Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, and General Electric.
