Purchasing card, applications for the contribution for the over 65s begin

The program will be renewed in 2025 Shopping card dedicated to citizens aged 65 or over and to parents of children under the age of three who will be able to receive it a contribution of 80 euros every two months for food and health expenses and for the payment of electricity and gas bills. This was announced by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The application for the Purchasing Card, completely free for those entitled, can be presented in post offices by filling in the forms published on the Mef website, the ministry says. Beneficiaries who already receive the contribution and remain in possession of the required requirements will continue to receive it every two months the credit of 80 euros on the dedicated electronic card to the program, without the need to submit a new request, we read in the Mef note. From the moment of introduction approximately 6 million citizens have so far used the card (2,162,989 elderly people and 3,757,404 children) for a total amount of 2.2 billion euros. Last year, in 10 months, 144 million were disbursed to over 360 thousand beneficiaries.
